Bioethics Panel vs. Obama

Ten members of the White House bioethics advisory board appointed by George W. Bush have slammed the president's stem cell decision, taking issue with Obama's characterization of Bush's 2001 decision. The center-left Center for American Progress has his back.

President Bush's bioethics council has been dominated by religious conservatives since it was created (the link below is an article written by council members Elizabeth Blackburn and Janet Rowley). It gave up any claim to credibility by excluding scientists and liberal perspectives. I doubt anyone will care that the council opposes President Obama's new rules regarding embryonic stem cell research.
